Xibalba In Town Hostel in Bacalar is a delightful spot that I've had the pleasure of exploring recently. From the moment I arrived, the friendly staff made me feel right at home, always ready to offer a helping hand. I particularly loved the spacious dorm rooms with offset beds; they provided a surprising amount of space, which was a godsend when traveling with my fiancée, looking for a bit of comfort after a long day. The breakfast here? Absolutely top-notch! They serve a generous continental spread that made my mornings a treat—Nutella, fruit, and fresh coffee kept me fueled for our daily adventures. Plus, the open-air kitchen and lovely garden created a relaxed atmosphere to unwind after a day of hiking around Bacalar's stunning natural beauty. While there were a couple of minor details that could use some improvement, like a better dish-drying solution in the kitchen area, the overall experience more than compensated for it. And let's not forget the picturesque pool, perfect for a quick dip after a day exploring the area! If you're looking for a clean, budget-friendly base for your adventure in Bacalar, I'd highly recommend Xibalba. It’s just a stone's throw from the bus station, making it convenient for venturing out to nearby attractions.
